Specialist manual setup for DTS-in-WAV / DTS-CD extraction and decoding. This is not the CW-DTS encoder.

Get CW-DTS-WAV 1.0.1.0

The archive includes the FFmpeg runtime DLLs required by CW-DTS-WAV. Keep them together.

64-bit Windows

Step by step

Manual installation

The example uses EAC's conventional Encoders directory. Use your actual installation path if it differs.

Extract the download

Open the downloaded archive and locate the files for CW-DTS-WAV.

Place the encoder in EAC's Encoders folder

Extract cw-dts-wav.exe and all supplied runtime DLLs into EAC's Encoders folder. Do not copy only the executable.

Open EAC's external compression settings

Open EAC → Compression Options → External Compression. Enable the external program, select User Defined Encoder, set the extension to .flac, and browse to cw-dts-wav.exe.

Keep the ripped DTS-CD carrier bit-perfect. Do not apply normalisation, volume adjustment, DSP, resampling or fades before CW-DTS-WAV receives the WAV. Return-code checking is enabled.

Test one track

Start with one known DTS-CD track. Confirm that the output is multichannel 24-bit FLAC and that no processing was applied to the carrier WAV before decoding.

Troubleshooting

Common CW-DTS-WAV setup issues

You hear loud digital noise

Do not play a DTS-CD carrier as ordinary PCM. Decode it with CW-DTS-WAV or another DTS-aware decoder.

Decoder cannot recognise the rip

Re-rip without normalisation, DSP, resampling, fades or any other sample-changing processing.

Encoder path is rejected

Browse to the executable again from EAC instead of typing an assumed path. The example path may differ from your installation.
